Jarvis plc announces £20 million E.ON contract extension
03/06/2009
Jarvis plc is pleased to announce that its subsidiary Fastline Limited has secured a two year eight month extension to its contract to haul coal for E.ON, one of the UK’s leading power and gas companies. E.ON has exercised the option to extend the term of the contract from its current expiry on 30 April 2013 to 31 December 2015. The value of this contract over the additional period is expected to be in excess of £20million. The service is delivered by Fastline Freight (a division of Fastline Limited), which commenced its coal haulage operations for E.ON in May 2008. The contract provides a dedicated service hauling coal by rail to Ratcliffe-on-Soar and Ironbridge power stations. Richard Entwistle, Chief Executive Jarvis plc, said: “We are delighted to have secured the extension of this contract with E.ON. Since launching our bulk haulage service last year we have concentrated on delivering a best in class service that is both customer focused and flexible. This extension to the contract shows the confidence that E.ON has in our service delivery and capability. It has enabled us to order further equipment to support the contract and we are confident that it will lead to further opportunities.” ends
