Arrival of Class 66s

FASTLINE FREIGHT’S NEW 66S ARRIVE IN THE UK

Sunday 22 June marked the arrival of the first of Fastline Freight’s new Class 66 locomotives (66301, 66304, 66305) at Newport Dock following a 12 day journey from EMD in Canada. In the coming week the three new Class 66 locomotives will undergo the relevant tests and certifications and then final commissioning at Crewe ready to bring them into service, as anticipated, on 7th July. The locomotives will be utilised on Fastline Freight’s major coal haulage contract for one of the UK’s leading power and gas companies E.ON UK plc (E.ON).
