Jarvis secures rail contracts worth £50 million

Jarvis plc, the infrastructure support services group, is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary Jarvis Rail Limited has secured rail contracts worth more than £50 million. Jarvis Rail, one of the major providers of track renewal, track development and electrical and signalling services across the UK, has secured a range of multi-disciplined contracts for clients including Network Rail, Transport Scotland, and Hochtief. Contracts include the enabling works for the high profile Aidrie to Bathgate and Glasgow Airport Rail Link projects funded by Transport Scotland, the extension of the second phase of the Rugby Station Remodelling scheme and several contracts for Network Rail on other major enhancement schemes on the West Coast Mainline - Northampton resignalling, Trent Valley 4 track, switch and crossing works, Milton Keynes enabling works and design development works on the AE09 linespeed enhancement project. In the South East - Hochtief has contracted Jarvis to undertake the track modifications and signalling works on the Stratford Station Upgrade and the team will undertake an asset survey and early-design work for Network Rail's Thameslink programme. Chief Executive of Jarvis plc, Richard Entwistle, said: “These contract awards are testament to the commitment, experience and expertise of our rail teams in England and Scotland and brings the total amount of project work awarded over the last six months to more than £115 million. “
