Jarvis plc announces £40 million E.ON contract for Fastline Ltd

Jarvis plc is pleased to announce that its subsidiary Fastline Limited has secured a five-year contract to haul coal for E.ON UK plc, the UK's largest integrated power and Gas Company. The contract will commence in April 2008 and has an expected value of £40 million over the five-year period with the potential for extensions of up to a further five years. The service will be delivered by Fastline Freight (a division of Fastline Limited), which commenced operations in June 2006. Fastline Freight will provide a dedicated service hauling coal by rail to Ratcliffe-on-Soar and Ironbridge power stations. Steven Norris, Executive Chairman Jarvis plc, said: “We are delighted to have secured this contract with E.ON UK plc which is a very significant step in the development of our Fastline Freight business. Since launching our rail freight service last year we have concentrated on delivering a best in class service that is both customer focussed and flexible.
