Jarvis reaches finals of two prestigious national awards
24/05/2006
Jarvis Rail’s innovative rapid track renewals system Accutrack™ has been short-listed for two national awards. Jarvis Rail is one of only three companies to be short-listed for the Most Innovative Transport Project - Private/Voluntary Sector at this year’s ‘National Transport Awards’. Rail’s submission focuses on the success of the Polesworth project undertaken on the West Coast Main Line during October last year, when for the first time a number of the Accutrack processes were fully implemented on one job. The winner will be announced on 18 July at an awards ceremony in London. The Accutrack system has also been selected for the shortlist of the Engineering category at the ‘Railway Industry Innovation Awards’ for 2006. These awards are a unique and important part of the railway industry calendar recognising and publicising the huge amount of innovation taking place on Britain's railways. The Engineering award recognises innovation in the field of engineering, which has brought benefit to the railway. The award will be announced on 27 June at a Gala reception held at the Great Hall of the Institution of Civil Engineers. Group Managing Director - Operations Pat McHale said: “Making the shortlist for both these coveted awards really is a fantastic achievement. Accutrack has set a new benchmark for fast, efficient and safe track renewals and this success is down to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in its development and implementation.”
