John O'Kane appointed Director by Jarvis plc

The planned departure of Alasdair Marnoch was agreed at the time of his appointment to Jarvis plc. Alasdair's remit was to oversee the financial restructuring of the Group which was completed in the late summer of 2005. The Board would like to take this opportunity to thank Alasdair for the work he has undertaken since he joined the Group in February 2005.

John O'Kane joins from a brief period at Eco-Bat Technologies Limited, where he was Group Finance Director. Previously, he was Group Finance Director of both Peterhouse Group plc and Kelda Group plc. Aged 47, John is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and has previously held senior management roles with ICI and Samsung Electronics in the UK and with KPMG in South Africa.

Welcoming John to the Board, Executive Chairman Steve Norris said: "I am pleased that we are now able to put in place another building block in the recovery of the Jarvis Group.

"John will join Chief Operating Officer, Richard Entwistle, in our York head office. John has exactly the sort of experience and track record the company needs and we are delighted to welcome him. I would also like to thank Alasdair who joined the Company at a challenging time and who made an outstanding contribution to the successful completion of the restructuring last year."
