Re: falsification allegations

26/03/2004

In October 2003, Network Rail launched an investigation into an allegation by external parties concerning the falsification of rail stressing certificates by Jarvis Rail as part of renewals work on the West Coast Main Line. Network Rail has informed Jarvis that the investigation has now concluded and found no evidence that the certificates concerned were deliberately falsified.

Subsequently in its April 14 to April 27, 2004, edition Rail magazine published the following joint statement:

"Rail magazine wishes to make it clear that it never alleged that Jarvis falsified documentation relating to West Coast blockade work. Rail regrets any damage to Jarvis' reputation which may have been inadvertently caused by any contrary impression given elsewhere, by media unconnected with Rail. Jarvis looks forward to working closely with Rail as before, to ensure the continued professional overage of the rail sector, and has terminated all legal action against Rail magazine and its publisher."
