Prismo marks up ISO14001 environmental standard

Certification has been granted to both Prismo Products Services and Prismo Contracting Services.

Andrew Martin, Prismo’s Managing Director, said: “We are committed to providing environmental leadership in the transport industry. We see it as another of the fundamental wider contributions we can make and are strengthening this in parallel with our drive to help reduce deaths on the road”.

Mark Harrison, Prismo’s Quality Assurance Director, said: “For Prismo, good environmental management practice is all about reducing waste and assisting in the control and disposal of hazardous materials. Implementing ISO14001 improves the management of stock and reduction of waste, as well as the control of spillages and the recycling of by-products. It’s making us more efficient and more environmentally responsible.”

The international certification was granted following an audit by consultants IMSM. Geoff Read of IMSM, said: “We recognise the level of commitment and amount of effort that the Prismo team has put into this project during the past 12 months. The business has done a remarkable job, providing a totally different environment for the people working there. This in turn is starting to change the way in which they are taking care of environmental issues.”

The ISO14001 Environmental Management standard recognises the actions of responsible businesses in the management and control of their environment. Requiring regular audits, the standard provides the formal structure to improve environmental performance.
